Proud Indian????

I introduce myself as proud Indian to any foreigner. Ahmm…Did I just say proud?
But to any Indian, I become little precise; sometimes I become even more precise on demand by telling about my city, town and district. And then I calculate how big is my country! So big that it becomes its biggest hurdle to manage.
I remember a girl whom I met in a train long back, Shikha Yadav. She said she belonged to Uttar Pradesh. But later when the conversation progressed, she being slipshod, accidentally utters she was from Bihar. Later she apologized for hiding being a Bihari.
What made her to do so? She said she feels embarrassed by calling herself a Bihari, but ironically she’s a proud Indian! So the root lies in our mindsets. Was she embarrassed because Bihar is a poor state and not technologically advanced as any other state? If yes then was it her fault? It needs a collective effort to upgrade. And all discriminations are man made. Which is to be eradicated.
Many a times I witnessed my friends relegating each other’s states and keeping their own state on top of their head. I used to feel, they might be from two separate countries, may be India and Pakistan or Iraq and Iran. Two disputable countries!
But critically relegating a state, which provides you education or help you earn your livelihood is ironical and sometimes inane. By making them inferior we ourselves proving cheap in our eyes. The horror picture of Mumbai now is the epitome. If gone by today’s status, future India will be no longer a country; it will split into 28 separate countries!
The present India resembles a stampede, where Unity, Brotherhood are being mindlessly crushed under the boorish, foolish strides of people. Throwing mud on each other will only make us dirty, remove the dirt out of the country and prosper together, make the bond stronger, make India proud!
